After a year long hiatus, the CEO of pretty b**tch music is back!!

Originally from theBay Area, Diamonte Harper notably known as “Saweetie” hopped onto the scene in 2017 with the remake of rapper Khia’s “My Neck My Back” which was titled “Icy Girl.” Since its debut “Icy Girl” has surprised 100 million views on YouTube and has been certified multi platinum. After the success of “Icy Girl” Sweetie went on to release her major EP titled Icy with the hit single “My Type.”  “My Type”became the rapper’s first top 40 hit on the Billboard hot 100.

Shortly after, Saweetie started dominating the music scene with her fun and sexy style. She became a favorite to her fans called “ICY gang.” She not only shared her music with them but also her business ventures and even, her personal life. For several years, the rapper dated Quavo from Migos. However, they broke and Saweetie took some time from the spotlight to focus on herself.

Fast forward a few years later, Saweetie is official back to music, as she discusses her journey of healing in her latest E.P. The Single Life. Composed of six songs, this new project is quite different from anything the rapper has previously done. She’s found a way to create something to empower women on how to keep their power and control the narrative of your own life.

The first song on the E.P. titled “Don’t Say Nothing” seamlessly addresses all the people who have had something to say about what she does in her own personal life. A song like this definitely teaches women how important it is to choose partners wisely who won’t spread your business. In an industry like this that is the most important thing. Going onto the second song titled “Boss Chick” here Saweetie takes back the narrative of her life letting people know she is not to be played with and she is the boss. The third song on the e.p. is definitely a more sexual song titled “P.U.**.Y (Powerful, Utopia, Supreme, Sacred, Yummy). In this song, Saweetie goes into details about how we as people have the power to transform people’s minds with our minds, soul, and body.

Then she gives us “Handle My Truth”, a song’s that a personal favorite because as a Saweetie fan this is something we haven’t experienced from her. Here she becomes vulnerable and creates a song as if she is having a conversation with a lover or ex lover. She pours her heart wondering if her flaws are just as good as her perfections. The second to last song is “Memorable”, going back to her original style, this fun melodic song showing women how to love on their own terms. Last but not least we have “No Reception” which is a summary of the entire project. Saweetie let’s fans know her process of healing which required forgiveness of anyone who has hurt her. Lastly, she states how her debut album PBM is on the way.

It’s safe to say that The Single Life is definitely the return of the icy queen but in a new and improved version. Opening up and being vulnerable, something her Icy Gang can relate to and appreciate.
