Rising star from the Midwest, Yalee has released his final installment to his short film part 4: “Mental Health”. Driven by his passion for music he speaks his truth and gives us a glimpse of his life.
“Mental Health” concludes a four-part short film series focused on how and why his mental health has been affected by certain scenarios he experienced growing up. It is a visual masterpiece that immerses the viewer to see and feel the traumatizing events that shaped his life.
His mission in releasing “Mental Health” is to connect with his audiences and inspire those who listen to his music to be true to who they are.
Yalee shares that filming this scene, which included his grandmother’s death, was very emotional and brought back triggering memories. The trap soul artist begins and finishes his story visually in 3rd person by having a young boy impersonate him.
Yalee expressed that he was “sad” throughout production because it brought him back to those rough times, but with his lyricism and trap soul sound, “Mental health” exemplifies Yalee’s ability to strive.
This month we celebrate Mental Health awareness on October 10th. Mental Health is a process and Yalee speaks openly in his music about prayer and how it has helped him on his journey toward inner peace.
