Music came to a halt yesterday as fans all over the world mourned the loss of the legendary musician Prince. Prince was found dead in his Minnesota estate at the young age of 57. Once his death was confirmed, radio station DJs began to pay tribute to the innovator. DJ R-Tistic decided to pay homage to Prince with “The Purple Mix,” a compilation of the music legend’s rare gifts.
Prince will forever be known for creating his own lane and setting the precedent for other artists to be themselves, without conviction, like Michael Jackson, CeeLo Green, Janelle Monae, and a slew of other artists. During his musical career, Prince earned seven Grammy Awards, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and completed 39 studio albums.
The “When Doves Cry” and “Purple Reign” musician will forever be missed. Listen to him live on in DJ R-Tistic’s “The Purple Mix” below. Take it in and enjoy.
