Tidal recently gave subscribers “a million dollars worth of game” on the Rap Radar podcast, hosted by Hip-Hop journalist, Elliot Wilson and Brian ‘B.Dot’ Miller.

Jay-Z stopped by to discuss his latest album  4:44 and the various footnotes he has been releasing as short docs and visuals in Part 1 of the interview, implying there will be more to come. “I didn’t want just music videos. Each one is like a doc, or this is a short, or even the cartoon we made for OJ. I wanted it to be just an honest portrayal of everything that I was saying.”

He continued by elaborating on the video made for The Story of OJ.

“The story of OJ is about us moving forward, and for us to move forward we have to take a look back, then we took a look back and said okay this is where we came from. These are real images shot by Warner Brothers and other major studios. This is how we were presented.”

Jay also dropped several words of wisdom including supporting Lavar Ball and Big Baller Brand, stating that he had actually purchased 3 pairs of sneakers himself. “Why do we get so upset when we, us as a culture want to start our own sh**? That sh** is puzzling to me, I sit back and I’m like this makes no sense. Why can’t he start his own sneakers?”

The legendary mogul also shared several of his other thoughts including his recent rift with Kanye West, the infamous video of his dispute with Solange Knowles in the elevator, and the money phone line that has offended several rappers in the process. – Frankie Castañon
