Carson’s very own (Del Amo to be exact) Jayson Cash returns with his most reflective and intentional work to date, Give Em Grace. Dropped December 19, the 12-track album marks a new chapter for the West Coast lyricist as he transitions from the major label system into a more independent, self-defined space. For those of us who’ve been tapped in since before his debut release Read the Room, it’s clear this project isn’t just a follow-up — it’s a full-circle moment rooted in resilience, faith, and evolution.
Production throughout the project is anchored by The Eastie Boyz (Cstyles and JFK), the duo who’ve become a signature part of Cash’s sonic identity. Their soulful sample chops and street bounce offer the perfect backdrop for Cash’s storytelling. The album also features standout collaborations with Ab-Soul, Dom Kennedy, Major Myjah and Tapri Grams each one elevating the emotion and energy without overshadowing Cash’s voice.
At the album release event, Jayson Cash offered insight into the deeper meaning behind the title. “If my life was a book, this would be the chapter,” he told the crowd. “I’m learning it’s just as important to give people grace as much as I need it. I’m not perfect, I fuck up all the time. I’ve fallen short. But even in those moments — with friends, with bonds getting twisted — it’s a reminder to give grace too. ‘Cause from their point, they might need to give it to me.” That honesty and humility shine through records like “Grew Up Fast”, “None to Give”, and “Letter to My Niece” — tracks that play like open letters rather than industry singles.
The event itself — hosted by Gina Views with a packed house with the Blac Collar Band setting the vibe and Cash commanding the mic per usual.
