Big $wift – ‘Xanax Rap’ (EP)

Jul 23, 2015 ,

Downey-bred emcee Big $wift released his awaited Xanax Rap EP. The 9-track project lets us take a stroll through $wift’s experiences and lifestyle; more so inside “Xanax rap” and what it represents, “the raw, gritty, street Los Angeles side of Big $wift.” As the tracks unveil, we go through the ups and down of young come up.

The 562 rep explained:

Its the side of you that people disliked, the side that would make you get in trouble in high school, the side that gives people a sense of fear and urgency once your presence is there. As you listen to the EP you go through Swifts phases and life; the mental journey that he goes through to learn how to cope with the raw side of his life. The tape talks about how this kid is selling drugs and is knowingly not living right.

I know what I’m rapping about isn’t uplifting I’m not even trying to fool myself or the listeners, this is not my happy content rational side. I promote drug use for myself, not for anyone else. Xanax rap reveals my anxiety and fear of devoting all your time/energy/money into one thing, my music. my brain has been everywhere for the last year of my life after high school. I felt like this had to be told, listening from my first mix tape i drop hints of dealing and other things but in this I go into the detail of that.”
