Mozzy earned his reputation as one of the most authentic rappers in the game today by staying dedicated to his home neighborhood of Oak Park in Sacramento.
Today, the veteran artist announces the tracklist of Children Of The Slums, his next album, which is dedicated to his home neighborhood’s lost souls, and those who have lost loved ones to the streets via drugs or violence.
“Nobody born in the slums has a choice,” says Mozzy. “Born into those kinds of circumstances, it’s hard to imagine a way to get out. They don’t have anyone to look out for them or to show them a better way. I’m still looking out for all the children of the slums. I am there for them because I know if the situation was flipped, they would do the same for me.”
The new album features a standout guest spot from Friday, who lends his otherworldly vocals to highlight track “LOST IT ALL,” as well as spots from Mozzy’s longtime collaborators Celly Ru and E Mozzy. Home to lead single “JADED” ft. Eric Bellinger, plus other previously-released fan favorites like “IF I DIE RIGHT NOW” (4 million views on YouTube), a heartfelt tribute to Mozzy’s latest grandmother, “[http://]MISS BIG BRUH,” and “FREE JUJU,” Children Of The Slums drops on all platforms on Friday April 19th.
