Sep 23, 2019

Oakland, CA rap duo Su’Lan (comprised of Saunsu and Emahlani) just released a 2-in-1 video premiere featuring their buzzing breakout single “Play Child (prod. Jay Anthony)” and next surefire-hit “Talk To Me,” via their forthcoming West Coast-influenced project, Tia & Tamera.

The video, directed by Zach Hurth, opens with “Play Child,” finding Su’Lan in their hometown neighborhood, surrounded by close friends. Throughout the bouncy visual, the duo call out their haters and send warning shots to those in their way of success. The ever-changing frames effortlessly makes it hard for viewers to shy away. By song end, we’re introduced to a second single, “Talk To Me,” which finds the girls in the studio vibing to the uncontrollable head-nodding beat, and gritty and quip lyrics.

Prior to their newest 2-in-1 release, Su’Lan began their rap careers in their late teens, but soon ventured off into modeling and motherhood. It was during their modeling careers where they met and became best friends. Bonding over their passion and love for music, the two found themselves returning to it, where they began posting freestyle raps from within their cars, calling themselves Su’Lan.
