The cast of HBO’s Sweet Life: Los Angeles gathered at HOORAE Media headquarters in Hyde Park, glammed up and dressed to impress, ready to kick off the premiere of season 2 with great vibes and no drama – just yet.

The series premiere kicked off on Aug. 4 on HBO, where viewers were blessed with not one, but four episodes to start the season and attendees were able to get a sneak peek of it all on Aug. 3.

The atmosphere felt just as authentic as the location, as everyone enjoyed the food trucks, beverages, and great music. However, some of the tea was spilled on the red carpet before the premiere, as Home Grown Radio was able to speak with some of the cast members such as: Briana Jones, Rebecca Magett, Jaylenn Hart, Cheryl Des Vignes, Jerrold Smith II, P’ Jae Compton, Rob Lee, Tylynn Burns, Jofi Kones and executive producer, Issa Rae, herself.

“I definitely feel like this season I am way more confident about my mission in life and I’m way more confident in just how I want to present myself,” Magett said. “ I’m also growing, so it’s a lot of situations where I’m clearly in the wrong, but I’m learning through it, I’m growing through it, and I’m just excited that you all have the opportunity to see me and all my friends figure our stuff out.”

Magett expressed that there is a lot of clearing up that the cast does in this season, which stemmed from the season 1 finale, and that there’s just as much drama to catch this time around. She also hinted that there might be love interests we get to see for her.

With Sweet Life doing so great at bringing the realness of L.A. to the screens, the creator and executive producer Issa Rae is just as proud of the cast to see their growth in all the different areas of their lives.

“This is such a dynamic group of friends and the fact that they all are entrepreneurial and the fact that they are all committed to growing with one another, and committed to even just their hometown and uplifting each other – really speaks to what I’m about,” Issa said. “And that’s why I was attracted to even doing this show around the. So I’m just really proud to see them grow this season and really just step into who they are as individuals. I’m proud of them.”

Sweet Life: Los Angeles is now streaming on HBO.
