10 Favorite Moments From Rolling Loud CA 2023

Rolling Loud CA brought a weekend of many moments and memories to Hollywood Park. From Playboi Carti sharing new music to Future closing out the festival, and many tending moments in-between. As you know, the Home Grown Radio team was in attendance and we want to share 10 highlights we thought made this weekend at the world’s largest hip-hop festival.

However, while these are just a few of our favorite highlights from Rolling Loud CA 2023. We want to know yours! So after seeing ours, we want to know yours in the comments below.

The Loyal Rolling Loud Fans

A large reason Rolling Loud is considered “world’s largest” is because of the thousands of fans in attendance. By Sunday, the festival was officially sold out! Home Grown Radio got the opportunity to chat with fans about who they came to see, their favorite lyrics, and creating a festival line-up.

Nana Sets The Sunday Tone By Bringing The District To Inglewood

Crenshaw District’s Nana waved the Crenshaw flag high on Sunday to set the tone for the last day of the festival. A growing crowd reciprocated the energy for the rising star as they chanted “get out the way!” for Nana’s performance of GOTW. 

The West Coast Hour: Performances From Rucci and G Perico

On Sunday between 3pm to 4pm, the Levi’s stage turned into the West Coast Hour as both Rucci and G Perico had sets. The first set was from Hometown Hero Rucci performing a set of high energy music. Rucci reminded the crowd, “You can’t spell Inglewood without saying Rucci!” After Rucci’s was Eem Triplin followed by South Central’s G Perico. Perico brought the West Coast Sunday energy, having the crowd sway to “Gangsters Anonymous”.  

Larry June Brings Out Alchemist  

The oranges were brought out on Saturday for San Francisco’s Larry June. The organic rapper brought with him rapper-producer Alchemist and share details about their upcoming joint album! The duo shared the titled of the project “The Great Escape” out on March 31st. June is an addition to the list of collaborators Alchemist has made joint albums with such as Curren$y, Boldly James, Roc Marciano, and Freddie Gibbs. 

Kalan.FrFr Has Fans Bouncing All Set and Joins Ohgeesy

The bounce was living throughout Kalan.FrFr’s set! The crowd on Sunday was soaking in Kalan’s energy as he performed “Scoring” and “Light Breeze”. A few fans were on shoulders to assure they would not miss this performance! The day was not done for 2ForReal as he later joined Ohgeesy on the Gopuff Stage. The Mexican rapper also brought out his mom in his performance of “Bands” to show his verse “finna get this money give it right to my momma”. 

OT Genesis bringing LA together for La Chona

A song that will always bring people to the dance floor in Los Angeles is Los Tucanes de Tijuana’s “La Chona”! OT Genesis knew the power of “La Chona” and brought the city together for a dance. What’s more LA than dancing to La Chona in a Dickies outfit?

RJ Leaves The Crowd Wanting More

A festival in Los Angeles is not complete with Mr. LA himself, RJ! The OMMIO artist had the crowd rocking for his whole set, and left the crowd wanting more! Twenty-minutes is not enough for the Los Angeles star!

The West Coast Superstars

The stars were out in Los Angeles this weekend! On Friday the LA hitmakers, Tyga and YG, made their presence felt throughout the festival performing hit songs “Big Bank” and “Go Loko”. The Bay Area also made their presence felt in Los Angeles with Saweetie and Oakland legend Too Short! Saweetie invited Too Short for her song “Tap In”, where Short performed his hit  “Blow the Whistle”. The Bay performance had the whole crowd saying one word. What’s Too Short’s favorite word?

Lil Wayne Bringing Out Nicki Minaj

This weekend could not have been complete without the Home Grown Radio team catching the one of the greatest rappers of all time, Lil Wayne! The Young Money rapper did not come alone, later bringing out the queen, Nicki Minaj! The two global superstars shared the stage for BedRock, making the crowd reminiscing of 2009. 

Coi Leray Rising Stardom

The Home Grown Team witnessed is the rising stardom of Coi Leray. The big purr rapper made her stage presence a priority because the performance was electric! There was no dull moment from Coi, balancing dance, singing, and crowd interaction.Â
