21 Savage opened up about the time he visited JAY-Z to thank him for his help after he was released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody early last year.

During an interview with Big Bank and DJ Scream on ā€œBig Facts,ā€ the Issa Album emcee said he tried to pay Jigga back for helping him get released from ICE, but the mogul declined his offer.

ā€œWhen I got out, I pulled up on JAY-Z at his house and shit,ā€ he said. ā€œHim and BeyoncĆ© was in there. And we was kicking it. He a regular nigga. I just was thanking him. When I first got out, I texted him like, ā€˜Imma pay you back.ā€™ He was like, ā€˜I donā€™t want your money, pay me back by being great.ā€™ So, I pulled up on him, chopped it up thanked him and shit, cause he ainā€™t have to do that.ā€

When 21 was detained by ICE, JAY hired an attorney to help get him out. ā€œThe arrest and detention of 21 Savage is an absolute travesty, his U visa petition has been pending for 4 years,ā€ the 4:44 rapper wrote in a statement last year. ā€œIn addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately, #Free21Savage.ā€
