2016 has been a promising year for music, especially in the hip-hop community. Some of our favorite artists have blessed us with hit after hit. As a matter a fact, great albums and singles don’t just come out of nowhere. It takes a real professional to take the talent of an artist to shape and present it in the best way possible. Artists like Khalani, Chance The Rapper, Drake, Ty Dolla $ign and many more have a solid team behind them.
With that being said, I’ve compelled a list of upcoming producers, who not only served these artists some of the biggest selling records but play a major part in allowing them to sound their very best.
From the East Coast, West Coast, and UK, these 7 beatmakers are building music’s future sounds! (in no particular order)
Boston Chery
Crystal Chery, also known as Boston Chery, is a DJ and producer rising in the mix of culture and entertainment. She’s active with a record label and collective In Good Company, where she contributes to their new culture of music.
Jahaan Sweet
Jahaan Sweet is the man behind Kehlani’s outstanding mixtape “You Should Be Here,” which granted her a GRAMMY nomination earlier this year. The young producer has not only worked with the Bay Area R&B singer but recently linked up with Ty Dolla $ign for his current hit “Zaddy.”
Wheezy
The Mississippi-born beatmaker Wheezy is responsible for a good half of Young Thugs’ Barter 6’s tracks, and not to mention, he’s momentum has been rising high since dropping heat on these tracks. Keep your open for Wheezy!
Amaire Johnson
In 2013, Amaire Johnson earned a spot on a Maroon 5 tour, the year after that, he began to tour with Big Sean’s band. Johnson not only started to get his feet wet as producer but also made his way into Big Sean’s, Kanye West and John Legend assisted track “One Man Can Change the World,” which raised to the top of the music charts.
Brian “Peoples” Garcia
Brian “Peoples” Garcia is a full force in the production field. The producer has crafted his work with Lil Ducky, and Fetty Wap. There’s no doubting that Peoples mixture of trap and uptempo is one you can’t miss!
Daxz
Haling from Toronto, producer Daxz linked up with Drizzy Drake’s right hand, Noah “40” Shebib to provide the drums for the Lou Williams tribute “6 Man.” However, long before that Daxz hustled his way around and gave listeners solid content.
Knxwledge
If you’re an underground hip-hop head then you’ve probably have already hear of Knxwledge. He’s been making sound all around. The East Coast-raised, West Coast-based has been apart of Kendrick Lamar “Momma,” NxWorries Link Up & Suede EP, and more.
