Colorado’s Hip Hop Duo Top Flite Empire Drops “Wave” Visual Featuring King Los

Mar 22, 2017

Ahead of their April 7th “Bad Decisions” album release, Top Flite Empire releases the visual to one of the singles off the project, “Wave” featuring King Los. The video concept is controversial in a positive light, playing on the idea of stereotypes in society.

“We put a rich African American male with the Caucasian American wife and a Caucasian American male on a cops salary married to a African American woman. Most people will notice these as not natural, so what is natural? How does society force us to think of things as natural or not natural. If the African American male lived in the hood with a African American wife and the Caucasian American male had a Caucasian American wife in a higher class area, no one would see any problems,” says the duo.

Top Flite Empire continues, “But these are all conclusions our society jumps to, because we create a social structure that is based on a biased norm. We give no reason for being pulled over, so some viewers will naturally jump to a premature conclusion. All this just reinforces how we naturally think everyday. This video leads in no direction, but the amount someone is uncomfortable or chooses a path for it, that are showing how society wants us to see things.”
