Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil who are the creators of “Girlfriends”, “The Game” and many more shows have just gotten renewed for a new season of Black Lightning. Definitely a different spin from the other shows on the CW Network. Black Lightning deals with things going on in real life like race, politics, and drug use. Salim and Mara have given us this authentic black superhero that has a whole family with specific powers to look up to and it really stands out from the other DCTV shows on the air.
