YG is doing his best to continue the legacy of brother and friend Nipsey Hussle alive. Over a year after Nip was shot and killed, YG spoke to the Los Angeles Times about his current mindstate regarding his fallen friend.
“I want to let the homie rest,” he said. “I’m not gonna fall back and just talk about bro in interviews. Not just in breath, but on my records.”
In the interview, the West Coast rapper also admis he felt a need to reflect on the current situation of America because Nip would do the same.
“I can’t come with my regulars, turnt up and lit,” he explained. “I had to go tap into that. I’m so used to being like ‘I don’t give a f*ck, f*ck you, boom bam.’ Now I’m like, ‘Damn, I’ve got to really go get into some emo shit.”
YG’s upcoming album My Life 4Hunnid drops this Friday, October 2nd and to read the full interview with Los Angeles Times, click here.
