What a way to start off #BlackHistoryMonth! Stacey Abrams has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Norwegian lawmaker shared on Monday that Abrams, a US voting rights activist and Democratic Party politician, has been nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for her work to promote nonviolent change via the ballot box.
Abrams has served 11 years in the Georgia House of Representatives, 7 years as Democratic leader, and was also the first African-American to mount a bid for governor in the U.S.
Congratulations Stacey Abrams!
