Morray and Polo G reflect on their neighborhoods in their latest remix to “Trenches.”
The Fayetteville artist tagged Polo G in this track to reflect on each of their upbringings. The two rappers exchange lyrics about what it’s like to grow up in low-income areas and having to be alert about everything going on around them.
“You can beat the system if you street and book smart, checkmate,” Polo G raps in the newly added verse. “Posted on them corners, he’s just waitin’ on his death date/They went left on the road to riches, so I thank the Lord, I kept straight.”
They even take time to express love for others who grew up in the same circumstances and for those who switch their mindsets from negative to positive ones.
“I got love for the ghetto, love for the hood,” Morray sings in the chorus. “Love for the people that turn the bad into good/Love for the people that think that it could be worse/Love for the people that’s putting their family first.”
Recently, the singer and rapper released the official music video for “Trenches (Remix),” which you can check out below!
