Ray Vaughn reflects on his life from the past five years in his latest release, “59th & Bethany.”
The Long Beach native released his visual for his track “59th & Bethany” on Dec. 22 and takes us through the point of view of his struggles and hardships before landing a record deal.
Vaughn begins the track by going right into the hardships he faced as he raps about having to sleep on an air mattress for some time. He showcases his vulnerable side when he shares with fans the unhealthy relationship and financial issues he dealt with.
He also takes us through a full circle to express how well he’s doing now and how better his life is now that he’s in the rap game. He even takes a moment to address those who look for him since his come up.
“For three months straight I was sleeping on an air mattress,” he raps in the song. “I was assed out like my pants saggin’/Doing bad but if you ask me I’m doing fantastic/Once I got bands they try hoppin’ on the bandwagon.”
