Brand-marketing strategist Karen Civil’s been making waves in the hip-hop industry since 2019. Due to her accomplishments throughout the years, she was just named General Manager and Executive Vice President of Young Money Records.
The media mogul recently shared her new role on Twitter via an article from Variety magazine. She stated, “ this journey has been fulfilling and now I have this role as GM/EVP where I can help expand and navigate the brand over the next few years. It’s a full circle moment and I’m excited to see what we achieve.”
Karen first partnered with Lil Wayne in 2010 to create Weezythankxyou.com, a platform the rapper would use to publish fan letters while incarcerated at Rikers Island and build anticipation for Tha Carter IV after his release.
As head of daily operations, Karen will work closely with Young Money CEO, Mack Maine to grow the label’s roster and continue its legacy for years to come.
Congratulations Karen Civil!
