It’s been 20 years since 50 Cent made his debut with the album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ but his recent tour ticket sales prove he’s as popular as ever.

The New York artist has sold over 800,000 tickets for the first week of his ongoing global tour.  The Final Lap global tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of his debut album and is being dubbed his final tour ever by the rapper. Busta Rhymes, who is joining 50 Cent on tour, had this to say.

“840,000 in one week, worldwide,” Busta Rhymes said. “840,000 tickets sold in one week. 840,000 in one week. 840,000 tickets…sold 675,000 tickets before the first show. In four days. 840,000 in one week.”

To put this in perspective, Kendrick Lamar’s recent Big Stepper’s tour, is the highest-ever grossing tour for a rap artist with $110.9 million made from 929,000 tickets sold in 73 shows. At least in terms of tickets, 50 Cent’s tour is already close to equaling those numbers in just one week.

In addition to Busta Rhymes, the rapper is being joined by Pressa and Jeremih, who will only tag along for the North American leg of the tour. There will also be other unannounced special guests.
The tour, which was announced by Fifty in May, launched July 21 at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. He will be in Los Angeles for one night on Aug. 30 at the Crypto.com Arena.
