Tommy Richman is wasting no time making his rush to the top.
On Friday (Sep. 8), Richman dropped his first EP under Brent Faiyaz’s creative agency ISO Supremacy, which is part of the PULSE Music Group publishing umbrella. The 5-track EP titled The Rush is largely self-produced and self-written, spanning multiple genres like neo-soul, r&b, and electronic music.
The lead single LAST NITE is an r&b track that’s reminiscent of Faiyaz’s sound and lyrics, but different enough to establish Richman’s artistic voice.
“No we don’t talk about what happened last night,” Richman, who is from Virginia, sings on the track. “You kept your secret safe with me now that’s right.”
The accompanying black and white music video complements the song’s moodiness with up-close shots of Richman and a metaphorical use of a black Mercedes-Benz driving down an expansive road as the path to his problems, but also his feelings of being lost.
“The future is bright,” Faiyaz said in a Twitter post where he shared a clip from the music video.
Overall, the EP serves as an introduction to Richman’s artistic potential and Faiyaz’s managerial abilities as he ventures into the world of music publishing.
Richman has been supporting Faiyaz on his F*ck The World It’s A Wasteland Tour as an opening act, gaining valuable exposure to new fans and experience under the wing of one of r&b’s most popular male acts.
Faiyaz founded ISO Supremacy in Aug. of this year with Richman being the first and only signee so far. Do you think Richman has what it takes to make Faiyaz’s first publishing venture a success? Send us a Tweet about it.
