New York’s very own Crtl Yala is taking his talents to music. The overall creative Yala has been seen in viral Instagram and Youtube videos due to his extraordinary personality and knack for comedic moments, but on his latest project he’s proving he can be serious as well.
Crtl Yala’s acting in his video for “3456” is to be commended as well as he solemnly walked through a chapel filled with stained glass where he confessed his sins. The video ends with Yala laying in a casket as he deads his relationship with this woman.
On “3456” Yala is rapping and crooning over sultry Trapsoul-esque production, telling a fictional tale about him and woman’s tumultuous relationship. Yala is fighting himself to not call her at 3am after 4, 5, or 6 drinks. It seems like every time he’s outside late, he reminisces on their relationship. His most profound lyrics appear in the second verse when he says, “she wants to go, but she wants me to stay”, which is extremely relatable when someone is trapped in a toxic relationship they’re not ready to leave yet.
