Diddy, JAY-Z & Nas Induct The Notorious B.I.G. Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

After being delayed for months due to the coronavirus, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame held its annual induction ceremony virtually with prerecorded speeches from presenters and inductees.

This yearā€™s inductees includedĀ Nine Inch Nails, the Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, and T. Rex.

Diddy presented his late friend and collaborator Biggie by saying, ā€œThereā€™s not a day that goes by that I donā€™t think of himā€¦They say that time heals all wounds, I kind of wait for that day. I also think that time doesnā€™t heal some wounds. Some things you have to live with.ā€ He added, ā€œNobody has come close to the way Biggie sounds, the way he raps, the frequency that he hits.ā€

Jay-Z said, ā€œB.I.G. was a brilliant song writer. He just made movies almost like Hitchcock. There were these tales that were disturbing, but they all had a purpose.ā€

Nas said, ā€œHe represented the Black experience. When they tell him, ā€˜No, your hair doesnā€™t work, you canā€™t dress like that, you canā€™t talk like that, you canā€™t be,ā€™ he said, ā€˜Fā€” that. Not only am I gonna be, Iā€™m gonna be the best.’ā€

Biggieā€™s children, Tyanna Wallace and CJ Wallace, accepted on his behalf. Tyanna noted that ā€œHis music transcneded the hip-hop industry,ā€ while CJ added, ā€œHe helped revolutionize hip-hop.ā€
