Tyler, the Creator’s 4th album, Flower Boy, has fans tuning into his ability to compose a polished body of work that makes even tracks like the Neo Soulful See You Again featuring Kali Uchi and the clunky/sci-fi production of Who Dat Boy sound almost seamless.
Since it’s release last June, Tyler will continue the momentum of his latest effort by hosting the 5th annual Camp Flog Gnaw at the Los Angeles Exposition Park on Oct. 28-29th.
The bill includes frequent collaborators and former Odd Future acts such as Earl Sweatshirt, Hodgy, Left Brain, Syd, Domo Genesis, Taco, and Mike G. Flog Gnaw will also be featuring several artists who are currently releasing new music and/or going on tour as well.
Kid Cudi will be performing Sunday, Oct. 29th at the carnival as part of the Passion, Pain, & Demon Slayin’ Tour. Atlanta natives, 6lack and 2 Chainz, will be making their rounds in LA for their own tours as well.
ASAP Rocky and Vince Staples, who are both associates of the OF camp and friends with Tyler, the Creator, will be in attendance.
Rocky will be releasing Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 alongside the ASAP Mob on August 25 as part of the AWGEST takeover. Twelvy, Ferg, and the “Lords Never Worry” collective are releasing projects every Friday throughout the month of August, with the exception of the 11th.
The Mob will also be kicking off the Too Cozy Tour next September in which an October 29th date is vacant, which means there will be a good chance Rocky is bringing something to keep snug in.
The Big Fish Theory, Vince Staples’ second studio album that dropped last June, has been receiving high praise for combining raw lyricism with 80s electronic dance music inspired heavily by LA pioneer Egyptian Lover.
Vince is on tour with his album as well, making a stop in Florida on the 27th of October which means he will probably be performing at Camp Flog Gnaw on the 28th. 2-Day passes for the carnival go on sale this Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at Noon PDT right here. – Frankie Castañon
