These Tik Toks feature the duo running through different locations as the camera follows them through locations like a grocery store, a parking lot, and even Disneyland. People are intrigued by this unconventional video style and the music, which is energetic, playful and at times even gritty.

Hello Christ? I’m ’bout to sin again said ‘I love you’ to that man but I’m not feelin’ him,” raps Floyana Kunurede, one half of the duo, in the single mentioned above.

Bobbi Lanea, the other half of the duo, follows Floyana’s verse and eases us into the chorus with lyrics referencing Michael Phelps and Dr. Evil. Some people on platforms like Twitter have been very vocal about disliking their musical style, but the amount of interactions the duo has received from their videos proves that most people are fans.

Over the course of a week, they have amassed over 10 million views across different social media platforms and none of it seems incidental. Flyana Boss’ recent surge in popularity showcases how social media marketing, particularly on TikTok, has changed the way people and the music industry discovers new talents.

According to a study conducted by MRC Data and Flamingo for TikTok, about 75% of TikTok users say they discover new artists through TikTok. To put this into perspective, TikTok has over one billion users, more than double the current users on Spotify and Apple Music combined.

Flyana Boss’ investment in their social media presence is a marketing masterclass on creating your own lane and capitalizing on the moment when people finally find their way there.

The duo, who are both originally from Detroit, MI, have been releasing music since 2019 and formed when the two met at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood. Since then, they’ve released over 15 singles and one EP. Visit flyanaboss.com to learn more about where you can stream their music.
