Rising R&B star Joyce Wrice bring us early 2000s nostalgia with her debut album Overgrown.
The R&B meets Hip-Hop project features Westside Gunn, Lucky Daye, Freddie Gibbs, KAYTRANADA, UMI, and more.
“With this being my debut album and an introduction, or a reintroduction, of Joyce Wrice to everyone, I had to show that these are the types of collaborations that you’re going to see me do,” the LA singer tells VICE. “I’m a fan of these artists, too. I wanted them to be a part of the world I’m creating.”
Overgrown showcases themes of growth (or being too “overgrown”), self-love, and the art of balance in any situation — all while capturing the energy of the 90’s and early 2000s.
