It looks like Cash Money Records are still taking over for the ‘’99 and the 2000s’. Today (June 30) New Orleans rapper Juvenile took over NPR’s Tiny Desk in Washington D.C, closing out Black Music Month.
NPR celebrated Black Music Month this June with 11 Tiny Desk concerts representing the past, present and future of Black music.
Back in April, Juvenile tweeted, “wtf is a tiny desk” after a fan suggested he should get on it. Fans started to flood the timeline tweeting the rapper that he should consider performing on Tiny Desk.
Fast forward to today, the viral tweet landed him in D.C and where he did an encore performance of his hit classic “Back That Azz Up”.
Mannie Fresh was the glue to the concert while artists like Trombone Shorty, Alvin Ford and The Amours played backup with the vocals and instruments to the live show. Jon Batiste even flew in from London to be a part of Juvenile’s set.
The Hot Boy opened up his set with “400 degrees” and performed an array of his classics like “Slow Motion” and “Rodeo” watch Juveniles full Tiny Desk concert below.
