Kanye West & Kendrick Lamar Gemini Edition

Gemini season is officially upon us, and if we are being honest, it’s more than a coincidence that it’s common for some of the greatest rappers to fall under this horoscope sign. I’m sure there are skeptics of course, as with any other topic of discussion, but due to the heavy usage with lyrics in tracks or even album titles, the artists themselves like to elevate being a Gemini.

Staying true to the “Twins” sign, I narrowed it down to two Geminis that are rightfully well known in the world of Hip Hop.

First, it would have to be Kanye West aka Yeezy. Besides being known for having the eccentric personality, it’s undeniable the amount of confidence he has. When listening to “Saint Pablo,” he raps “the ultimate Gemini has survived.” The meaning behind the line is that he knows who he is and what he stands for, so he has no problem showcasing that through his music. Kendrick Lamar is also a fellow Gemini, and explores the “duality” theme in his album called To Pimp a Butterfly. More specifically, in “Wesley’s Theory,” he raps “your horoscope sign is a gemini, two sides, so you better cop everything two times.” The underlying meaning is to vibe with the idea of going twice as hard, whether it’s in the entertainment industry or any other goal you want to accomplish. There shouldn’t be a Gemini blog out there without the mention of Tupac, and his own mention of astrology in his hits. “Let Em Have It” is memorable for “a gemini, so you really blow my mind freak.” If you can master the truly exceptional and unique mind of a Gemini, you may be set for life.
