Kendrick Lamar’s announcement in 2021 of stepping away from the TDE label had fans in a shock, but the Compton rapper’s recent announcement of pgLang’s big move had fans feeling a little more excited.
On Jan. 13 the rapper’s co-founded company pgLang announced that Kendrick Lamar and business partner Dave Free will be producing their first comedy film through Paramount+ streaming platform.
The untitled comedy film will tag Matt Stone and Trey Park, who produce the adult sitcom, ‘South Park,’ as producers. It will also be written by comedian Vernon Chatman, who plays characters for South Park.
The press release expressed that the film will be based on a young Black man finding out that his girlfriend’s family line owned his ancestors.
pgLang’s first comedy film will begin shooting in Spring 2022.
