Kendrick Lamar, Drake & Childish Gambino Turned Down Grammy Performances

Buh-bye GRAMMYs, these artists don’t want anything to do with you.

Yes, you read right. According to Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich, Kendrick LamarDrake, and Childish Gambinoall turned down performance slots at this year’s Grammy Awards. 

The artists’ representatives also “declined to comment on whether they would attend the show,” according to Pitchfork, who reached out to reps for Kendrick, Drake, Childish Gambino, and the Grammys for more information.

Ariana Grande also turned down a performance slot after getting into a dispute with the producers when they did not approve of her choices in songs to perform.

According to Billboard, Kendrick is nominated for eight Grammys in total this year, including Record of the Year (“All the Stars” with SZA), Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Gambino is up for five awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year (“This Is America”). Drake has seven nominations this year.
