If everyone else is counting down like I am, Black Panther will hit theaters in a little over a week. But the hype around the soundtrack is understandable, as listeners can enjoy some of the bangers included on the project until the highly-anticipated day. “All The Stars” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA dropped back in January, and the hustle doesn’t stop as there is now a music video out for the track!
You can’t just watch it once. There are so many elements involved in the production, and it wouldn’t be surprising to get a glimpse of something new every single time. One one end, there’s literally black panthers in the visual, evidently tying it to the movie. But, by looking at the bigger picture, it’s important to find significance in the all-black cast, the back-and-forth flow of earth and galaxy, and the message behind incorporating stars in between it all.
In the chorus, SZA sings “all the stars are closer”…as in, your dreams are within your reach, as long as you stay humble throughout the experience. Watch “All The Stars” below!
