A sports fan’s love for their team and its players has no limits. If you’re like Giuseppe Mancuso, that love is as strong as family.
Dodgers All-Star Mookie Betts, revealed on Tuesday (Aug. 16) that while he was on the deck, fan Mancuso told Betts that if he hits a home run, he’ll choose Mookie as his daughter’s middle name.
“Your wife wouldn’t like that, don’t do that bro,” Betts told Mancuso. “I think he may have been on the phone with her.”
Betts hit the home run, fistbumped Mancuso on his stretch back to the dugout, and a couple weeks later the news hit his social media feed.
Mancuso posted his daughter’s birth certificate online and it read “Francesca Mookie Mancuso.”
“Shout out to you Giuseppe, I can’t wait to meet Francesca,” Betts shared in a video. “That’s going to be my girl.”
Hopefully Mancuso’s wife is happy. Would you do the same for your favorite player?
