The NBA 2015-2016 season will kick off Tuesday night with a small sample of games to start the season. The last time we saw a meaningful NBA game the Golden State Warriors were hoisting the NBA Championship after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2 to capture their first championship since 1975. On Tuesday night the defending champs will begin their title defense by hosting the up and coming New Orleans Pelicans lead by their leader Anthony Davis. Also on Tuesday the Cavaliers will travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bulls while the Detroit Pistons will meet the Atlanta Hawks in the ATL.
The Western Conference appears to be loaded with a possible five teams that can represent the Western Conference in the Finals. The Oklahoma City Thunder welcome back Kevin Durant after an injury sidelined him last year, the Los Angeles Clippers reloaded by bringing back DeAndre Jordan and added Lance Stevenson along with the home town veteran Paul Pierce. Not to be overlooked the San Antonio Spurs made a splash by adding free agent LaMarcus Aldridge while the Houston Rockets added point guard Ty Lawson from the Denver Nuggets.
The Eastern Conference made a couple of splashes in the off season but nothing major to where a team besides the Cavaliers can challenge for the title. There are some solid teams in the East but let’s be real, the West got this.
The 2015-2016 season could see the end of three of the best players to ever play the game as Kobe Bryant will play his 20th season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Garnett returned back to Minnesota last year and will lead the Timberwolves for his 21st season and the old man Tim Duncan will lead the San Antonio Spurs for his 19th season.
