UCLA Health and the Los Angeles Lakers are continuing their heartwarming tradition of celebrating babies born on Kobe Bryant’s birthday.
As August 23 marks Kobe Bryant’s 45th birthday, newborns at UCLA Health this week are receiving adorable Los Angeles Lakers gear, a perfect homage to the enduring “Mamba” legacy.
“Kobe Day,” observed during the same week on August 24, pays homage to the iconic basketball player who sported jersey numbers 8 and 24 throughout his legendary career.
According to the NBA, the care packages will include, No. 8 baby beanies, Lakers swaddle blankets, and three, adult No. 24 Kobe t-shirts. Two t-shirts are for family members and the last one is for the baby to grow into.
This gesture not only marks the start of these infants’ lives but also showcases their early connection to the Lakers family, embodying the spirit of a true day-one fan, literally!
