Calling all lovers, or ex-lovers if you will. Tink is back and she has a lot to say. The Chicago native recently released her 5th studio album titled Thanks for Nothing.
In the album, Tink breaks down the trials and tribulations that she has gone through in different relationships. For the lead single of the project, she teamed up with LA native Ty Dolla Sign. The two come together to create a leading single from the album, “Let Down My Guard.”
This song is a tale of men and women discussing all the things they do to impress a potential lover. Ty opens the song by saying “If I took you shoppin’ on the first day, would you love me?” Tink follows up with “If I let down my guard would you give a thug yo’ heart.” With a clear form of dialogue between the two, this gives fans a sense of visuals without an actual video.
Throughout the song, they two go back and forth speaking on different scenarios and ways in which lovers or ex lovers fight to stay in each other’s life. Tink ends the song by saying “If I let my guard down would you let us fall apart.”
