The month of June was nothing close to #JuneGloom, but rather the opposite for Hip Hop. Albums were dropping faster then Busta Rhymes’ raps. Narrowing it down was a challenge and a half, but mission accomplished.
First, Jay Rock released Redemption, and “Rotation 112th” has been on repeat since. The beat has an eerie yet a turn-up vibe to it, which makes it easy to appreciate the uniqueness to it while bumping your head to the banger. Similar to “Win,” the passion is overwhelming. It’s been a minute since we’ve seen a project drop from Nas, but he always enters with high-quality music. Listeners may have tried to guess the future when DJ Khaled had a track on his then album called “Nas Album Done.” Rest assured, the wait was worth it for Nas’ project called NASIR. “Not For Radio” is one of the stand-out tracks on the project, and “they may not play this on the radio” but listeners should play it for the powerful message. Listen to “Not For Radio” below!
Kanye West has been in the studio to say the least, releasing multiple albums in a span of a month. But, the project that stood out was the long overdue collaboration album called Kids See Ghosts with Kid Cudi. “4th Dimension” is a single that allows both artists to elevate their own individual and unique talent. You can have multiple “beautiful mornings” with this track (and the rest of the project, to be honest) and it’ll literally transport you to different dimensions. Listen to “4th Dimension” below!
