The introspective, sample and horn-heavy track finds Trev detailing his mentality and struggle to remain patient while comparing his success to others, trying to take care of friends & family, and persevering through everyday life while chasing a rap dream. āPatienceā is a standout record and the first release from his upcoming project Stressin, which is due out on July 19 with features from Casey Veggies, Garren, and Xian Bell, among others. Trev has dropped several projects and has collaborated with West Coast staple Casey Veggies on the record āTo the Top,ā TDEās Reason, and producer DJ Wes.
The āPatienceā video is a reflection of what I envision life being like after I make it — celebrating with my people, being able to perform or express my art to the world, and building an empire, so to speak. Itās like a dream or the dream, so to speak. For this video, we wanted to play off of a mafia theme where Iām the mob boss and I’ve got all my people with me. Some of them can hate and some of them can be wholehearted supporters, but all in all they respect me, my work, and what Iām doing. So, thatās why youāll see scenes with them paying attention when I talk, or me being the center of attention in the room — because Iāve basically earned their respect like a don in a mafia. – Trev Deshon
