Black Friday just got red.
Bompton rapper YG is wrapping up his 52-city FDT tour, performing hits from Still Brazy released earlier this year. Now, right in time for the holidays, YG’s second project of 2016 Red Friday drops. The 8-track mixtape features collaborations with 21 Savage, RJ, & Mitch as DJ Mustard handles production (as if we’d have it any other way).
Although fans are already memorizing lyrics to their favorite rapper’s tracks, the Def Jam artist was outraged that the label released his project prematurely. YG’s relationship with Def Jam has had friction in the past, this following the label pushing him to work with other DJs for Still Brazy. YG took to Twitter to vent.
In lighter news, YG is following the example of his big homie Nipsey Hussle, announcing plans to sell hard copies of Red Friday for $100 a piece. Fans attending his Oakland shows will be the first to get their hands on the limited personally signed mixtapes (only 1,400 copies will be sold). Get your hard copy of Red Friday here or stream it below & on iTunes. Also, watch the project’s first visuals: “I’m a Thug Pt. 2”
If you want to watch YG’s entire Oakland show on Nov. 28 it will stream via TIDAL.
