Remembering J Dilla With ‘Jay Love Japan’ & ‘The Diary’

Yancy is keeping her son’s name alive. Since J Dilla’s passing in 2006, the mother of the late, great rapper has gradually liberated some of her son’s unreleased material, including Dillatronic. Now, she continues to honor her son by serving his fans with a posthumous album titled, The Diary, releasing next week (April 15) and re-releasing Jay Love Japan as a Mother’s Day gift, with new unreleased tracks. Luckily for fans, two of those unreleased tracks from Jay Love Japan, “Sun In My Face” and “The Look”, have made their way to the internet. Stream both tracks below and stay tuned for J Dilla’s, The Diary. 

Fun Fact: Japan was reportedly one of J Dilla’s favorite tour spots.
