Smokepurpp has long been inspired by the debauchery of history’s greatest rockstars, and his new project, PSYCHO (Legally Insane) EP, is no exception.
Let’s start with the EP cover – this time, Purpp pays tribute to Ozzy Osbourne’s infamous story where he bit off the head of a bat.
Musically, PSYCHO (Legally Insane) finds Purpp experimenting with new flows and an eclectic mix of instrumentals. While some tracks nod towards hip-hop history, like the Memphis-style horrorcore of “Tic Tac,” recent single “We Outside” ft. Lil Mosey uses a guitar lick that resembles Red Hot Chili Peppers and “Rockstar” allows Purpp to expand his melodic arsenal.
PSYCHO (Legally Insane) is the follow up to last year’s album Florida Jit and a glimpse at what’s to come in 2021 from Smokepurpp.
