Ben Fly & Smoov Sh*t Bangn Join Andre Truth For “Memories”

There isn’t much Andre Truth hasn’t seen firsthand in his lifetime. Born in Seattle, Washington and bred in South Central, Los Angeles—the prolific screen and songwriter has weathered the rigors of the block and the boardroom, notching recognition and respect with every move he makes. 

Formerly known as Young Dre’ The Truth, his first Billboard Hot 100 hit came with 2008’s “Money Can’t Buy You Love.” He was later featured on the Madden 2009 soundtrack (“Working” f. Good Charlotte), NBA Live 2010 soundtrack (“All Eyez On Me The Truth” f. 2Pac and BJ The Chicago Kid), EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 soundtrack (“Cheah Bah” f. Snoop Dogg), and multiple placements in Starz’ hit series Power (“Boo Coo,” “King,” and “Fire”). 

His latest hit, Juan Maga’s “Internacional” featuring Andre Truth and Cee-Lo Green has surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify. On the horizon, a new television series created by Andre Truth, Cellys (co-starring Slink Johnson) is set to premiere on Tubi in Fall 2021.   

And throughout his journey through music and film, Andre Truth has remained laser aimed on expanding his independent label, KC3 Monumental.

“Memories” is dedicated to our loved ones who’ve passed on,” Andre Truth says. “It’s about a sense of community in salute to all the dead homies that passed away. My sister, Smooth’s mom, and Fly’s mom all passed on. Community and love is all we have at the end of the day. My homeboy Ben Fly, who delivers an important verse on the song, served 22 years in prison. His mom passed away while he was locked up. He told me once, ‘all I have left are memories with you when we were teenagers and I was a kid.’ All he had was old memories. He wanted to make new memories. I’m just happy we got to do that in this song.”
