Imagine being in your hometown and dreaming about making it big. Well, that’s what BigXThaPlug and Ro$ama did. With hard work and dedication, they are now easily two of the hottest up-and-coming hip-hop rappers.
These two musical powerhouses have been a dynamic duo for quite some time now, and their latest project is a testament to their creative synergy. Hailing from the Lone Star State, they’ve crafted a masterpiece, the anthem of the legendary Godzilla x Kong saga, titled “Beast Mode.”
“I’m a king like Kong. The streets my home. Call me Godzilla. I roam alone. I’m taking over the world. We’re coming for the throne,” BigXthaPlug raps.
As Ro$ama replies in the song, “There isn’t any love on the island. My heart is made of chrome. I heard he’s looking for war. Give that boy what he wants. You’re going to hunt or get hunted. That’s just how it goes. We’re not dropping beef. We don’t stop until it’s done.”
This collaboration seamlessly blends their raw energy and innovative flair, immersing listeners in a musical odyssey that echoes the epic scale of the franchise. “Beast Mode” encapsulates the film’s monumental clashes and iconic figures, delivering the ultimate monster showdown. It’s an electrifying track.
Home Grown Radio’s Lupe LLerenas spoke with BigXThaPlug and Ro$ama about this collaboration, and BigX shared how the opportunity for this song was created.
“I immediately started working on it, said BigX.” “A couple of days later, they [UnitedMasters] ended up reaching out to my artist, Ro, because they know we do a lot of work together, and yeah, we made a banger.”
Now, this isn’t just another collaboration. “Best Mode” celebrates the release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and the tenth anniversary of MonsterVerse.
“I was excited. It’s the anniversary, you know it was a big deal, BigX expressed with excitement. It was an opportunity to be a part of it, so we were definitely excited and shocked.”
Both Big and Ro weren’t the only ones excited about the track. Fans even shared their excitement as well on social media. One fan commented on their Instagram post: “Yk how hard was to make the song with no cussing no guns no nun salute 🫡 fr.”
Of course, since this song was for a film, there were rules and regulations they had to follow; I asked them if there were any challenges in creating it. “It wasn’t a challenge, but it was just different,” said Ro$ama. “It was real, real different.”
While being a part of the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was a highlight for BigXThaPlug and Ro$ama, they have much more coming.
“We actually have a label 600 entertainment,” said BigX. “Ro is part of it. We actually are about to drop the EP next month called Meet the Sixers and I got a album dropping late August.”
These two friends from Texas continue to make their dreams come true because they’ve had these wild dreams since a young age, and they are finally coming true. They hope to continue to put on for their cities and where they came from.
“This means everything, especially right now, said BigX. “He’s from Paris and I’m from Dallas, but he stayed in Dallas and so to have everybody see what we’re doing is making a big impact. I feel like connecting and trying to build as a team.”
