Cobby Supreme’s album release party for his latest project Street Legend was a celebration of new music and life.

The album release party was held on Sunday, August 15, in no better place but Los Angeles. The All Money In crew gathered to not only celebrate the Street Legend album, but also the late founder Nipsey Hussle’s 36th birthday.

The venue was filled with support as everyone listened to Street Legend and in between reflected on Hussle’s life. Rappers like Pacman Da Gunman, J. Stone, Spiffie Luciano, Cypress Moreno, Dom Kennedy, and more attended the listening party.

Cobby spoke to Home Grown Radio and was able to give us the special meaning behind his album title.

Street Legend is one of those projects that I worked hard on and it was named by Nip,” he said. “Right before he passed, he asked me what I was going to name my album and I’m like, ‘Endurance’ and he’s like, ‘that’s hard.’ He slapped me on the arm like look, ‘call this one Street Legend.’”

He mentioned that Nip expressed to him before his passing, that he would look up to 17-year-old Cobby as youngin’s in the neighborhood.

“He [Nipsey Hussle] was like look, ‘when we was 14 and you was 17, we were trying to copy off you’ and it just made me feel some type of way,” he said. “And then when he passed, I’m like you know what, I have to finish this up. So that’s how Street Legend came about.”

During the listening, Cobby spoke a little on how each single came about. He even gave a live performance with Spiffie Luciano, who is featured on the album. Dom Kennedy also took the mic and performed “Checc Me out” with Cobby, which is their collaborated single with Hussle.

Street Legend is currently out on all platforms. Make sure to add it to your playlist!
