Mellow and truthful, the âAirplane Modeâ video opens with Fireboy alone in the outdoors, where the video ended for Fireboyâs âLifestyle,â reflecting on his dreams of fame. Realizing his appreciation for time alone, Fireboy strolls around his studio expressing the hardships that come with stardom and the importance of being able to fly solo for personal growth.
He continues to address the drama and competition surrounding the life of an artist and how he separates himself from the masses to stay grounded. As he wallows in the lively celebration around him, he passionately belts the chorus, âI just wanna be alone. I donât wanna see no message on my phone.â The video then concludes with Fireboy on a sandy expanse having a heartfelt and inspirational phone call with his mother.
