Last month 6lack celebrated five years of his debut album Free 6lack, and now he’s releasing more music for fans to enjoy.

The R&B singer and rapper released two tracks on Dec. 16 titled “Rent Free” and “By Any Means,” which were short yet sweet four minutes altogether.

In the “Rent Free” track, 6lack takes some time to address his pride and constantly thinks about that special someone. He expresses that although the two have been through a lot and she doesn’t show him much attention, they somehow always end up back.

“You live in my mind rent free,” 6lack sings. “I admit it was my pride allegedly/I done filled up all my time just to feel empty (Empty)/How you don’t pay me no mind and then still be/In my rent free.”

His track, “By Any Means,” gives off a completely different vibe, as the artist reflects on his come-up in music. He raps about how he started to the moments in between and then his successes.

“Places I been, people I’ve seen,” he says in the track. “Remember my whole life was started with dreams/I had to start from the bottom/Full throttle to top by any means/I had to let ’em go first, ’cause I know I’m the king.”

6lack’s “Rent Free” and “By Any Means” is currently out on all streaming platforms.
