Dr. Dre has been in the studio working and is back with another great collaboration. The West Coast legend dropped a new track featuring Ty Dolla $ign and the late Nipsey Hussle that captures what they stand for.
The track titled “Diamond Mind” was released on Dec. 15 and is one of many tracks that will be included on the new Grand Theft Auto Online: The Contract album.
“Diamond Minds” opens up with the late Crenshaw rapper as he raps about grinding for the life he wanted to live and how he kept pushing for more even when he reached those goals.
“Uh, we live this Marathon life,” Hussle raps. “‘Cause one day we gon’ all die/Not a stranger to them hard nights/But when we look up, we see our sky/We see potential in the moment/We used to have to rent, now we own it/No hesitation, we be on it.”
Ty Dolla $ign can be heard singing in the chorus as he sings about living a crazy life. He then joined in with Hussle on the chorus as they used a touch of Spanish on the track.
The Compton producer and rapper also took on his verse by letting everyone know that he’s still the Dre that makes dope music and rides for his own.
“Listen, Doc Dre, you know I don’t show up often,” Dre raps. “Uh, but when I do, I put shit in motion/Motion picture shit, n***a, picture me rollin’/A composer with composure, bitch, I’m Compton’s Beethoven/Silhouettes and naked bodies layin’ in the sand/Now that’s California love, you know who the fuck I am.”
